A Win for the Countryside – and for Us!

Eight at Gazegill have been named North of England Champion in the Countryside Alliance Awards!

We are absolutely over the moon to share that Eight at Gazegill has been named North of England Champion in the prestigious 2025 Countryside Alliance Awards, often referred to as the “Rural Oscars”.

To receive this honour is incredibly meaningful – not just for our team, but for the land, animals, and community that shape everything we do. And to hear these words from the Countryside Alliance themselves has truly left us speechless:

"Eight at Gazegill has been honoured as a leading light in rural enterprise, a true celebration of passion, sustainability, and innovation. Nestled within a 500-year-old organic farm in the heart of the Ribble Valley, this exceptional "farm-to-fork" restaurant showcases the very best of countryside dining.
From home-reared beef and foraged ingredients to panoramic views of Pendle Hill, every detail reflects a deep respect for nature, food provenance, and local heritage. In just eight months, it has grown into a destination venue, powered by wind and solar energy, with aspirations to become the UK’s first off-grid fine dining experience.
A heartfelt, community-driven enterprise, Eight at Gazegill is reimagining what rural hospitality can be, an inspiring example of how land, people, and purpose can come together to create something truly extraordinary."

We're humbled, proud, and more energised than ever to keep growing, learning, and serving.

We'd also like to give a huge shoutout to our fellow nominees who stood alongside us in this category: Bowland & Bay Foodie Tours, Archer's Ice Cream Parlour, Cooper King Distillery and New Sheepfold Farm all amazing businesses doing incredible things for the rural communities across the north of England!

What's Next?

This regional win means we’re now headed to the national finals – and will be attending the Champions Reception at the House of Lords in June, where the overall UK winners will be announced

Between now and then, we’ll be working behind the scenes to tell our story to the national judging panel – and of course, sharing more of what makes Eight at Gazegill so special along the way.

A Huge Thank You

To our team, our guests, our local suppliers and neighbours – thank you for being on this journey with us. Every kind word, every visit, every shared belief in sustainability and good food – it’s all made this possible.

We’re raising a glass to the land, the people, and the purpose behind Eight at Gazegill.

Stay tuned for more updates, and keep your fingers crossed for the finals!
